This site describes the AdaptWeb® Project. The Project goal is to provide adaptive educational contents, personalized according to different courses and student profile. The first beta version, implemented in PHP and MySQL is available. Hypermedia teaching applications apply guided or suggested navigation, hierarchical contents presentation, and sequential deterministic presentations among others educational techniques. These techniques are usually applied for all the students in a standard way. However, different students have different cognitive learning styles and presentation preferences, which imply the use of different teaching strategies and presentation resources. Also, the same basic content may be offered in different courses, with differences in complexity (e.g.: theorem demonstration or theorem presentation only), content sequence, examples, and complementary educational information. In addition, the same content may be presented in different ways. The AdaptWeb® current version contemplates different courses contents and student presentation's preferences. The software provides syllabus generation, with run-time adaptation to student's course and preference. Cognitive learning style adaptation will be added to a next version.

The AdaptWeb® project team hope that this open software may be used for new modules development and research purposes. We are open for collaboration in M.Sc. and Ph.D. works related with learning content adaptability. If you are interested, please contact us.
